| New Development: Cogeneration Plant |

This plant is being built with grant from the National Science Foundation, with matching funds from the Sacramento Municipal Utility District and the university. Most of the design has been carrried out by senior Mechanical Engineering and Mechanical Engineering Technology students under the direction of Professors Andrew Banta and Ngo Thinh. The plant is unique in that it is designed to be an instructional facility, to be operated and controlled by undergraduate students rather than a utility system that students are merely allowed to study.
