Mission: The California State University Sacramento Department of Mechanical Engineering Industry Advisory Committee is committed to providing students and faculty with the knowledge required to become positive assets to the community by bridging the gap between solid academic curricula and the requirements of effective industry professionals.

The Industry Advisory Council (IAC) has worked with the faculty in the Department of Mechanical Engineering since 1985. The members provide expertise in different areas of Mechanical Engineering.

The IAC meets formally with the department at the beginning of each semester. A variety of informal and formal meetings are held at other times depending on the issues that have been raised. The IAC provides input to the curriculum and works with the faculty to help implement suggestions for program improvement. The IAC provides input, advice and support to the students and faculty in the Department. Input from the IAC enhances the curricula through incorporation of professional experience, ideas and practice.
